Lage Raho Munnabhai

Wow! Thats how should a movie be made. Munnabhai movie could not have at a more apt time. It is a great attempt to free the society and beureaucracy of its debauchery. Movie potrays social/moral evils prevailing in our society and at the same familarizes the audience with long forgotten principles of Gandhiji. I earnestly hope there would be some change in some people after seeing this movie. I must thank the screenwriters and the director of the movie for creating this movie. The movie is "Mother India" of current decade.

All the actors have performed their roles immaculately. All are at their best. Vidya balan has got a very affable voice and face. I might be making an audacious statement, but dont be surprised if she reaches the heights of madhuri and rani. Boman Irani shunned his stereotype comedy role to a good business minded and smart sardarji. Though he is funny at times but circuit (or sarkeshwar) beats him hands down in the movie on comic front. Story is well written and there is no instance of boredom in the movie. You dont have to apply your brains. Just watch and relax. Good to watch it on tuesday night and i bet it will make rest of your week like weekend!

What to watch for: Everything. Watching it with good friends and gulping one beer should make it even better.
What to ignore: I think astrology is not that stupid as shown in the movie. Dont be misled by the movie, though i would accept that 9 out of 10 astrologers nowdays are just fooling people. Like dravid says in some ad, advice to sabhi dete hain, point is who is it you take from.

My Rating: 9/10
Bole to yeh movie box office mein baaki sab movies ki vaat laga reli hai, mamu.

You seem to have been quite impressed by Vidya Balan, but frankly after Parineeta, I was quite disappointed by her. And the weird thing is that I cant exactly pinpoint in what was missing, but somehow she didnt seem to fill the character as much as i had hoped, (strictly imo!).
As for Boman Irani, yup! this fella is an amazing actor and seems to fit any role with complete ease! in the previous version of Munnabhai and in this one, and also in Being Cyrus, Boman has displayed a very good comic sense in a negatively characterized role! I cant remember when any villain last managed to enthuse a similar effect. Way to go.
Definitely Sarkeshwar(a.k.a. Circuit) walked away with the meatier comic dialogues, and he pulls them off with panache. Just getting a little worried about the fella coz he seems to be getting settled into a stereotype, and imo he has much more talent.

All in all a complete entertainer of a movie. Gandhigiri is in! hope it is here to stay~

PS:I did watch the movie on a tuesday ;)

it is good have an opponent so that there can be a healthy tu-tu-main-main. So it is okay if you dont find vidya up to the mark.
Yes, Boman is great! though he looked bit taller than normal in the movie. Check out the scene in which he enters his house after scolding munna to remove his gang from outside of his home.
Arshad had to be comic in the movie. I dont know how well he can fit into other kind of roles, but atleast it is good to do what you are good at!

Good to know that you saw the movie on tuesday

All characters in this movie has given brilliant performance throughout the scene by scene. Even circuit was incomparable...and I don’t find any degrade in Vidya's performance from his last movie Prineeta...as she was fit to the movie story board and dialogues.
This time Gandhi's image also looks celebrated and enriched with shrewd smile on his face after so long time.
Overall this movie is good attempt of good direction and apart from all from some corner one can see the revival of Indian Cinema.

Yeah but still the performance of Vidya Balan does manage to generate a few rants.
Check this for the meaning of what is a rant.
"
v., rant·ed, rant·ing, rants.

v.intr.

To speak or write in an angry or violent manner; rave.
"
Her voice is way too drooly and utterly loathsome(if that's even a word), only to make the see-er (huh that's not even a word now eh) to sleep.
Imagine your own RJ shouting and pouting gooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooog morrrrrrrrrrrrrrnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnniiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiig
"insert your city of choice"
the only asset that she used is the visual delight of seeing a Palakkad gurrl.
Otherwise munna and circuit own the film.

I think that is basic nacessity of Character of Vidya/RJ/Tamaashabeen
